The Semester at WHOI Program was initiated in 2015, and 12 students (2 in 2015, 5 in 2016, 2 in 2017, and 3 in 2018) have completed the program. We currently (for fall 2019) have a grant to help expand the program that provides a scholarship of $7500 to anyone admitted.* Students who have completed the program have gone on to Ph.D. programs; a Masters degree program; and positions as research technicians. Deadline for admission for fall 2019 is April 30, 2019.

Coming up this summer, Penn State is hosting up to 40 students for a “research experience for undergrads” (REU) to work on projects related to Project Drawdown. Project Drawdown is focused on implementing a wide range of solutions to reversing global warming.

The Wasatch-Uinta Field Camp still has several open spots for summer 2019. If any of your students are looking for field camp, please encourage them to check it out at fieldcamp.org. Application directions can be found here (http://fieldcamp.org/content/enrollment-fees).
The Wasatch-Uinta Field Camp is a six-week capstone course designed to prepare students for successful careers in the geosciences. We emphasize scientific methodology and traditional techniques that provide a strong foundation for the broad range of modern technologies used by today’s industry, academic, government and private workforces.

Our Spring Programs in Paris, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco are now closed. There are a handful of remaining places in London, Paris and New York, however we expect to close those locations in the next two weeks.
Our Summer programs continue to fill at a record rate, and I would encourage any interested students to apply now to avoid disappointment.
