The Arb is hiring for summer student employment!
Arboretum Summer Restoration Technician:
Description: There are five student positions available working in the Arb this summer as Restoration Technicians. Work includes eradication of invasive species, trail maintenance, ecological restoration, and seed collecting. Applicants must be willing to do physical work outdoors for extended periods, use power equipment (e.g. chainsaws), and apply herbicide. Students with experience in plant and/or animal identification may have a portion of their time dedicated to special inventory projects. All students must be certified campus drivers by the start of employment. Start date is June 18, 2025 and runs a minimum of 10 weeks, with the possibility of one or two more additional weeks. This is a full-time (40 hours a week, Monday – Friday with occasional work on the weekends for special events, e.g. Reunion). Applicants must be full time students during Fall Term 2025; not available to graduating seniors.

Arboretum Summer Research Assistant:
Description: This position provides support with plant and animal related research, inventory and monitoring projects. This includes assisting with preparing materials for fieldwork, data collection, data entry and analysis, and report writing. You will learn to identify a diverse group of plants to assist with data
collection and will serve as a member of the Arboretum land management crew as needed (Approximately 20% of time).
Start date is June 18, 2025, and includes 10 weeks of paid work. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, generally Monday-Friday although occasional Saturday work may be required. Time off during the summer may be negotiated with the supervisor but may not be taken during the first week of the position. Applicants must be full-
time students during Fall term 2025; not available to graduating seniors.
