FIELD GEOLOGY SUMMER JOBS IN ALASKA

Pathfinder Mineral Services, LLC is seeking qualified applicants to fill several entry level temporary positions for exploration geologists. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in mineral exploration to garner experience in grassroots exploration in Interior Alaska.

Fieldwork will commence early, and is expected to last 60 days. All work will be in remote locations and supported by helicopter. Work will be based in a tent camp with a professional cook, shower, laundry, internet access, and cell phone access. Weather permitting, we generally work 8-10 hours/day, 7 days/week. No time-off is planned.

This is a physically demanding job. Geologists will be hiking in steep terrain while carrying 30-50 pounds. Applicants must have a B.S. in Geology with Field Camp. Duties include soil, rock and stream sediment sampling, geophysical line preparation, prospecting, geological mapping, and general labor. The applicant will make and record geological observations. Legible handwriting and the ability to record observations in a cogent, succinct, and literate format are of paramount importance. Familiarity with maps, orienteering, and GPS use is vital.

Field equipment, lodging, meals, and travel will be provided during the course of the project. Employees provide their clothing, bedding and personal items. Salary will depend on experience. We expect to fill these positions by mid-May.
