Some of the resources we provide to the Carleton community are:

Located in Clader House (209 East Second Street), the Gender and Sexuality Center is open Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. The GSC helps support a dynamic campus community that recognizes, supports and celebrates sexual and gender diversity – specifically centering resources and services for LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Aromantic, and more) students. To accomplish this, the GSC hosts events, mentoring programs, speakers, and workshops.

The GSC also offers a comfortable space on campus where students can drop by anytime to browse through the library, grab resources, study, or to chat with the staff.

  • Individual support
Staff in the GSC are available for individual support and advising. Talk helps! Contact us if you would like to chat. Gender and Sexuality Center Associates (GSCAs) are also available for peer support. The Q for Questioning program is another resource for students who are coming out and navigating their way on campus. The Queer Peer Mentor Program is also helpful for students interested in becoming more socially connected to the LGBTQIA+ community at Carleton.
  • Peer Education
We offer ongoing peer-led educational programs for students. This includes already created workshops or working in collaboration with our G & S Workshop team to create something unique to your community’s needs. Contact gsc@carleton.edu to connect with our Gender & Sexuality Workshop team.
  • Lending Library
The center houses a large collection of books, magazines, and videos related to gender and sexuality. These materials are available for check out. Stop by and browse through our library!
  • Meeting space
The center provides a comfortable meeting space for related student groups. This space is also available for students to simply hang out or study. The GSC can be reserved by contacting our staff.
  • Events
The GSC plans regular events, including annual events such as Transgender Day of Remembrance, Rainbow Retreat, Speak Up (an event to raise awareness about sexual violence), and an annual Senior Celebration.
