Scott Carpenter, Marjorie Crabb Garbisch Professor of French and the Liberal Arts, has received the second place prize in the national Royal Nonesuch Contest for humorous writing, administered by the Mark Twain House. The prize was awarded for a piece about life in Paris: “Squirrel Pie and the Golden Derrière.”
