Junior major Dawson Eriksen received the Boyd-Niles Fellowship which he will use while participating in the 2023 French and Francophone Studies in Paris program. He will visit the southern French town of Béziers, the tragic site of the 1209 first major military action of the Albigensian Crusade to eliminate Catharism in Languedoc. Dawson will study the ways in which this massacre figures in Béziers’s collective memory.
