Cathy Yandell, W.I. and Hulda F. Daniell professor of French and Francophone studies, recently presented a paper at the Sixteenth Century Society Conference. The presentation, “Montaigne’s Cogito,” examines vestiges of Lucretian materialism in the essayist’s work and explores Montaigne’s “thinking through the body.”
