Chérif Keïta, the William H. Laird Professor of French and the Liberal Arts, published an article “A Zulu Woman’s Encounter with the American Press” in Nokutela Mdima-Dube: A Pioneering Woman’s Journey Told in Essays, Fashion, Music, Art, Poetry and Interviews, ed. by Asanda Sizani and LegacyCreates, a group of young creatives determined to continue Keïta’s work of restoring a forgotten pioneer of the South African liberation movement to her rightful place. This book (Preface) is followed by a short film to be premiered on January 25, in Cape Town, South Africa, titled, “We Have Come to see uNokutela Mdima.”
