The Forum Steering Committee includes up to thirteen exempt staff in the following positions:

  • Benefits Committee Representative
  • Campus Design Advisory Committee Representative
  • Bookstore Advisory Committee Representative
  • Security Services Advisory Committee Representative
  • Special Events Committee Representative

Forum Positions Overview & Election Cycle

Forum elections will be held during winter term. All Carleton exempt staff are eligible.

  • 2 Co-chairs (Alternating 2 year terms)
    • The Co-chairs serve as members of Forum executive leadership, plans and facilitates Forum meetings, oversees committees and elections, and, at times, works alongside the leadership of SAC on behalf of all staff at Carleton
    • Note: Two (2) positions are available
  • 1 Secretary (2 year term)
    • The Secretary serves as a member of Forum executive leadership, assists the Co-chairs in their responsibilities, and records and shares meeting agendas & minutes
  • 1 CEDI Representative (2 year term)
    • CEDI is a group of students, faculty, and staff that work to improve campus community and promote equity, diversity, and inclusion on campus
  • 1 College Council Committee Representative (2 year term)
    • Represent the interests of Forum members during all College Council meetings, trainings, and initiatives; share updates & information with general Forum members
    • The mission of the Council involves the development of policies in areas having to do with matters other than educational policy or curriculum
  • 1 Budget Committee Representative (2 year term)
    • Represent the interests of Forum members during all Budget Committee meetings, trainings, and initiatives; share updates & information with general Forum members
    • The Budget Committee advises the Vice President and Treasurer in the construction of the annual budget and in the development of a longer-term financial plan
  • 1 Benefits Committee Representative (5 year term; next election spring 2024; term ends 2029)
    • Represent the interests of Forum members during all The College Benefits Committee (CBC) meetings, trainings, and initiatives; share updates & information with general Forum members
    • CBC is charged with monitoring benefits for all non-union employees of Carleton
  • 1 Bookstore Advisory Committee Representative, (2 year term)
    • The Bookstore Advisory Committee provides a forum for dialogue between students, faculty and staff about any activities or topics related to the Carleton Bookstore
  • 2 Security Services Advisory Committee Representative (Alternating 2 year terms)
    • SSAG provides insight into Security Services’ practices and presence on campus
    • Note: Two (2) positions are available
  • 2 Special Events Committee Representative (Alternating 2 year terms)
    • The Special Events Committee organizes and hosts events on behalf of staff, and encourages connections between the Carleton community
