Students can apply for financial assistance for music lesson(s) by completing this online form (you must be signed in).
If you are a music major or music minor, the cost of your music lesson may be waived by the Music Department, so you are ineligible for this additional music lesson aid. If you are a Bailey Scholar you may be eligible to receive aid from the Bailey Endowed Fund to cover the cost of your music lesson, so you are ineligible for this additional music lesson aid.
Deadlines to apply:
- Fall 2026 Deadline: Friday, September 18, 2026, by 5 p.m.
- ( Online form will be open May 21 to September 18 deadline )
- Winter 2027 Deadline: Friday, January 8, 2027, by 5 p.m.
- ( Online form will be open November 3 to January 8 deadline )
- Spring 2027 Deadline: Friday, April 2, 2027, by 5 p.m.
- ( Online form will be open Feb 23 to April 2 deadline )
Applications received after the deadline will be considered for a loan.
Please note
- Financial assistance is available for up to 2-credits (two 1-credit lessons OR one 2-credit lesson per term) of music lessons per term.
- You must apply each term.
- To qualify for grant consideration, you must be receiving need-based financial aid and have accepted all parts of the award (including student employment and loans). This ensures that grant dollars are most equitably distributed.
- You will be notified if you are not eligible for grant assistance before the deadline date.
- Requests for previous terms will not be considered.
- You may request a loan for music lesson assistance at any time.
