    Aidan Price, class of 2024, died suddenly on June 20 in Berkeley, California. Although his time at Carleton was brief, Aidan was a beloved member of our community and formed a tight network of close friends here. A lover of music—he played trumpet and piano—Aidan also had a competitive spirit that was fulfilled through Ultimate.

  • Luigi Trenti-Paroli ’18

    It is with immense sadness that I share that Luigi Trenti-Paroli ’18 took his own life in Oxford, U.K. on January 19, 2017. After completing his sophomore year at Carleton, Luigi was on a year-long sabbatical and was due to return to Carleton next fall. Luigi was a budding philosopher who enjoyed the outdoors.

    Sidharth (Sid) Ramakrishnan ’19 died on September 21, 2016 at Carleton. Sid was intending to major in physics or chemistry with a dream of curing mental illnesses. He was known to his friends and faculty as brilliant, thoughtful, passionate, caring, and complex.

  • Zach Mitchell ’17

    Zach Mitchell, class of 2017, died on January 29. Zach had been battling cancer and was currently on leave from the College. Zach grew up in nearby Dundas. He entered Carleton in the fall of 2012 and quickly fell in love with the campus and the people; greatly enjoying and adding to the mix of thoughtful, smart, kind, and fun-loving Carls. Among other activities, Zach participated in CANOE and Model UN and his goal in life was to earn a PhD from Oxford University and return to Carleton in 10 years as a Geology professor.

  • Zach Brokaw ’18

    Rising sophomore Zach Brokaw ’18, of Woodstock, Illinois, was killed in an automobile accident on Saturday, June 20, 2015. Zach was an impressive and engaging young man. He lived on third Nourse, wrote elegantly for the Carletonian, and loved his student job on the helpdesk and as a tech support assistant with Information Technology Services. He had a passion for nature, especially birds and birding, and had been selected to work as a student naturalist with the Cowling Arboretum’s Cole Naturalist Program this fall. Zach was also a member of the Climate Justice Coalition and the Tae Kwon Do Club.

    Paxton Harvieux ’15 died as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident just outside Northfield on February 28, 2014.  Paxton, of Stillwater, Minnesota, was a Computer Science major.
