Betty Armstrong

Betty Armstrong, 87, died on Monday, July 3rd. Betty was a switchboard operator at Carleton from 1963 until 1995, but Betty’s Carleton connection started much earlier. As the daughter of Earl Baldwin, the groundskeeper of Laird Field for about a half century beginning in 1926, Betty’s home throughout her childhood was an apartment in Laird Stadium. Having Laird Field as her front yard helped her to become a lifelong football fan.

A more complete obituary is available on the Bierman Funeral Home website.

Services for Betty will be held on Saturday, July 8th, at 10:30am, at First United Church of Christ, Northfield, with visitation on Friday, July 7th, from 4-7pm at the Bierman Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service.

Please keep all of Betty’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
