In case of an emergency like FIRE or you smell GAS, evacuate the building and dial 911!

For other urgent needs:

  • During regular office hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, call Facilities at x4133.
  • After hours, urgent needs should be reported to Security at x4444.

Note: Facilities maintenance staff are not typically on campus during evenings or weekends. For urgent situations, Security staff will contact facilities and we will work to stabilize the situation and evaluate the need for immediate repairs. Urgent requests which can be stabilized will be addressed by the appropriate maintenance staff during the next business day. 

Urgent needs which should be reported immediately include:

  • Fire alarm activation (evacuate the building) 
  • Electrical outage – one room or many 
  • Elevator outage
  • Refrigeration equipment failure (food service or laboratory)
  • Broken glass (window, door) which affects safety or security
  • Door lock or other access issues affecting safety or security
  • Water leaks – plumbing or otherwise
  • Heat failure – radiators are cold, or heat not working (first close windows, check thermostat. more information here)

Please also submit a Facilities Work Request form after reporting the issue to Security. Our goal is to respond to your needs as quickly as possible and stabilize the situation.
