All of these plans are built upon the foundation of Carleton’s 2012 Strategic Plan, which identified a set of critical next steps Carleton must take over the ensuing 10 years to secure the college’s continued success and distinction.
Facilities Master Plan
The Facilities Master Plan was announced in May 2014. The goal of the plan is to outline the next 30 years of new construction, renovation, and replacement of Carleton’s buildings.

Utility Master Plan
The Utility Master Plan was announced in February 2017. The goal of the plan is to utilize renewable energy systems (wind, solar, geothermal) to make Carleton carbon-free by the year 2050.

Campus Circulation Plan
Finalized in May 2020, the Circulation Plan is a set of guidelines for improving vehicular, pedestrian and bicycle circulation on the Carleton College campus.
