"Exploring Mars with Curiosity and Perseverance"

Two 1-ton nuclear-powered NASA rovers are currently exploring the Red Planet, looking for signs of ancient life. Curiosity landed in 2012 and discovered an ancient lakebed containing small amounts of organic matter in its clay-rich sediments. Perseverance landed last year in Jezero crater where it is currently driving toward an ancient river delta, collecting samples for eventual return to Earth. In this talk you will hear of the adventures of both rover teams, with highlights from the laser instruments that were developed by our speaker.

Book signing after the lecture!    Poster for this event.
