Maddie is working as a Watershed Stewards Program (WSP) Member with the National Park Service at Point Reyes National Seashore in California. WSP is an Americorps program that was started through the California Conservation Corps and the CA Department of Fish and Wildlife to collect data on important indicator species of fish and restore key watershed areas. In my position, I will be doing mostly field work in Point Reyes and Golden Gate National Recreation Area, conducting habitat surveys, fish counts, and restoration projects.
Since graduating from Carleton, I have worked at an environmental engineering firm in Minneapolis, completed an SCA (Student Conservation Association) internship with the National Park Service at the Sonoran Desert Network in Tucson, AZ, was an RA and Marine Science TA at the Coastal Studies for Girls Program in Freeport, ME, and a naturalist at the Center for Alaskan Coastal Studies in Homer, Alaska.
