Sydney Carton (A Tale of Two Cities), Gandalf the Grey (Lord of the Rings), and Brett Ashley (The Sun Also Rises).
3. If you could create your own English class, what would it be?
A five-week course on “The Killer Angels” by Michael Shaara.
4. If you could give your Freshman self one piece of advice for an English class what would it be?
Just because it’s academic work doesn’t mean you have to write papers that sound like 19th century tax forms. Be interesting and energetic.
