Hannah Neville is in this week’s Senior Spotlight.
1. Describe your experience as an English major in six words.
How did I miss that detail??
2. If everyone moved to Mars but you missed the flight, which three literary characters would you want to keep you company?
I would want Sophie from Howl’s Moving Castle because she would help me get stuff done, Anne Elliot from Persuasion because we could have interesting conversations, and Harry from The Blue Sword because she is not only clever but handy with a sword.
3. If you could create your own English class, what would it be?
I think a class about all the literary figures who frequented the same pubs would be interesting, like reading Oscar Wilde next to Charles Dickens because they both like the Cheshire Cheese. Makes me wonder what other kinds of similarities their works have!
4. If you could give your Freshman self one piece of advice for an English class what would it be?
Don’t worry so much; the more stressed you are, the less you will enjoy what you are reading and learn something. Just relax and enjoy the words!
