Fall

  • Thursday, September 15, Common Time: Required Comps meeting for senior English majors
  • Wednesday, September 21, noon: Project Comps proposals due
  • Thursday, September 22, Common Time: Required research methods workshop for Comps research essayists, with reference librarian Adam Lewis
  • Wednesday, October 5, noon: Creative Writing and Research Essay Comps proposals due
  • Thursday, October 20, noon: Colloquium Comps proposals due
  • Tuesday, October 25, Common Time: Colloquium Comps research visit with reference librarian Adam Lewis
  • Students are required to meet with their Comps adviser before leaving for winter break.

Winter

  • Wednesday, January 18, 5 pm: Creative, Project, and Research Essay Comps: 10-page draft/project report to advisor
  • Wednesday, February 15, 5 pm:  Full draft of Creative and Research Essay Comps to advisor; partial draft of interpretive essay for Project Comps
  • Friday, March 10, 5 pm: Colloquium, Creative, Project, and Research Essay Comps due

Spring

  • Monday, April 24, noon: Comps revisions due, if required
  • Thursday, May 4, Common Time: Comps meeting for juniors
  • Saturday, May 6, 9 am-1 pm: Comps Symposium
