Carleton does not offer an official pre-engineering track or major. But there are many options to prepare students to pursue engineering after Carleton. The most common is the 4-3 Engineering Program, which allows students to spend four years at Carleton and three years at Washington University to receive a B.A. degree from Carleton and both a B.S. and M.S. from Washington University.

Recent alumni of this program include graduates in electrical and computer engineering.
