Valerie Gingras is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) with an extensive career spanning the insurance and financial services industries.
Currently serving as Chief Actuary and Vice President of Data Analytics at a dental insurance company in Minnesota, she also holds the role of Appointed Actuary for multiple insurance entities and serves on the Dental Policy Sub-Committee of the Delta Dental Plans Association.
Over the course of her career, Mrs. Gingras has held senior actuarial leadership roles at prominent organizations, including Equitable Life Insurance Company, American Enterprise Group, and Ameriprise Financial, where she led large teams and drove innovation in areas such as valuation, risk management, pricing, and data analytics. She is known for her ability to bridge technical actuarial expertise with strategic business leadership, mentoring teams, and modernizing actuarial processes across organizations.
Mrs. Gingras holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics with an Actuarial Orientation from the University of Montreal. She is bilingual in English and French and holds both US and Canadian citizenship.
She is passionate about developing the next generation of actuarial talent and is excited to share her journey and insights with students at Carleton.
