Mirror/Window

Wed, September 24, 2025 - Sat, November 1, 2025 • Boliou Gallery
Red, ceramic-glazed underwear, simultaneously resembling a ram's head/horns and a womb/ovaries. The ceramic piece is resting within a square of dark human hair.

Katayoun Amjadi is an Iranian-born, Minneapolis-based artist, educator, and independent curator.

Her work investigates the sociopolitical systems—like language, religion, gender, and politics—that shape our perception of Self and Other. Her art explores the relationship between past and present, tradition and modernity, and individual versus collective identity, seeking to spur discussion about our place in the temporal world and the interwoven roots of our histories.

Amjadi is a visiting lecturer at Carleton College during the Fall 2025 term.
