• 5:00pm
- 6:30pm (1h 30m) • Athenaeum @ Gould Library
The Carleton College Chapter of the Alexander Hamilton Society is excited to invite you to join us at our speaker event next Tuesday the 23rd for a lecture by current Hudson Institute fellow and former USAID official Daniel Batlle, followed by a Q&A moderated by our very own Professor Alfred Montero!
Mr. Batlle will lecture on topics including his personal experience on current regional and global security challenges in the particular context of Latin America, with a particular focus on his roles in USAID and how US investment might be tied to the international Great Power Competition. Conversation will then turn to a moderated Q&A hosted by our very own Professor Alfred Montero, where Mr. Batlle will elaborate on how democratic governance and rule of law must take precedence and how modern US policies are making waves in the region. Prepare questions for Q&A! Mr. Batlle's bio is linked.
