Audio Tour with KRLX

Thu, February 27, 2025 • 12:00pm - 1:00pm (1h) • Perlman Teaching Museum
A dark room with purple walls is occupied by video projections and illuminated artworks on the floor and ceiling, creating an effect like overlapping windows on a computer screen. A purple glow comes from a tinted window on the left side. Freestanding panels are scattered throughout the room, each with colorful abstractions and other images mounted to them. Blue banners with abstracted plant designs hang from the ceiling and a red video projection, showing a person lying on their back, glows on the far wall.

Tune in Thursday 2/27 from 12-1 p.m. for a live museum broadcast on KRLX. Museum student workers will dive deep into our current exhibition, Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme: Only sounds that tremble through us, open now through March 12th.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the powerful works of Palestinian artists Abbas and Abou-Rahme and explore how their art engages with sound, memory, and political resistance in compelling ways. The conversation will be led by Perlman Teaching Museum student workers Drew Rodriguez-Michel, Maddy Sriver, Alex Tananbaum, and Elias Tannira, and will feature sounds sampled from the exhibition.

We hope you'll tune in and join us for this exciting broadcast!
