Conversation & Q&A - Islamic Finance: Exploring the challenges muslims face navigating U.S. economics. April 25th, 5:00pm, Sayles 251. Dinner from Desi Diner. Professor Waleed El-Ansary, Xavier University. Carleton Office of the Chaplain

Professor Waleed El-Ansary from Xavier University will lead the Conversation and Q&A on Islamic Economics.

There are many questions and complexities that Muslims face when navigating finances and economics in the United States. Islamic Economics is a paradigm of economic principles and practices that is primarily derived from the Qur'an and Sunnah, as well as interpretations by Muslim scholars and theologians, and that is rooted in justice, equity, and ethical financial conduct. It is a holistic approach that seeks to align with and meet the spiritual, psychological, and material needs of Muslims both individually and socially. It includes practices such as interest-free banking, wealth distribution, and ethical investment. Come join for a conversation on Islamic Economics and ask your questions about how to navigate the financial system as a Muslim in the United States.

Dinner from Desi Diner will be served.
