Reflecting on Marriage in Islam-Joint Halaqah. May 9, 5:00 P.M. Sayles 251. Appetizers from Desi Diner. Facilitated by Chaplain Ailya Vajid, Imam Tamim Saidi (St. Thomas Muslim Chaplain) Carleton Office of the Chaplain

This conversation will be facilitated by Imam Tamim Saidi (St. Thomas Muslim Chaplain) & Chaplain Ailya Vajid.
In the Islamic tradition, marriage is considered "half of deen", or half of one's religious practice and way of life. Thus, marriage is a significant part of the life of a Muslim. In this halaqah, we will learn about the religious/spiritual, emotional, and practical dimensions of marriage in the Islamic tradition; explore topics such as Islamic courtship, love, partnership, and rights responsibilities; and address your wonderings and questions about marriage. Come join for a thoughtful, open, and meaningful conversation!
