Guest Concert: William Eddins - The Goyescas Project

Fri, September 27, 2024 • 7:00pm - 8:30pm (1h 30m) • Kracum Performance Hall

An accomplished pianist and chamber musician, William Eddins is the Music Director Emeritus of the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and a frequent guest conductor of major orchestras throughout the world.  In his concert The Goyescas Project, he explores the "Piano Fantasies: 1905-1915". The period between 1905 and 1915 was a time of great innovation and experimentation in classical music. It was a time when composers were pushing the boundaries of traditional forms and techniques, creating new sounds and textures, and exploring a wide range of emotions and moods. This recital features two works from this period: R. Nathaniel Dett’s “In The Bottoms,” and Enrique Granados’ “Goyescas.”
