Carleton’s emeriti faculty remain an important part of our campus community. The following are some of the privileges that continue after retirement. If you have questions about any of these items, feel free to contact Becky Krogh in the Provost’s Office.
Engaging with the Carleton Community
- You are welcome to attend campus events, including convocations, the garden party, and the Employee Recognition Luncheon. You are also welcome to march in the procession for Opening Convo, Honors Convo and Commencement. Watch the Upcoming Events calendar on the Emeriti Web site for details.
- You will continue to be listed on the Carleton directory and can update your Bio at any time. To update your bio, look yourself up in the directory, click on the Bio button, and then click on “Edit this Bio” in the upper right. If you don’t have a Bio and would like to create one, see the instructions for creating your Bio.
- You will continue to receive Carleton Today and be added to the retiree email distribution list. If you do not wish to be included, please use the Change Request Form to let us know.
- A copy of the Voice will be sent to the address we have on file for you.
- Let us know about other ways you would like to stay connected to the Carleton community by completing our Volunteer Interest Form.
Accessing Carleton Resources
- You will keep a Carleton email address. If you prefer to receive your email at another email address, the ITS helpdesk can assist you in setting up email forwarding. See the ITS Emeriti Faculty page for more information about emeriti access to hardware and software.
- You may continue to add funds to your OneCard to be used for discounts in the dining halls or other businesses (visit the OneCard Information Center for details). The Campus Services department will be happy to update your photo at any time.
- You may continue to borrow books from the library for a one-year loan period, request materials via interlibrary loan, use library databases, and sign up for a library locker.
- You continue to have access to all Carleton recreation facilities, including fitness classes and personal training sessions.
- You continue to be eligible for a discount at the Bookstore by identifying yourself as a retired faculty member.
- You continue to be eligible for an annual hang tag to allow you to park on campus by completing the motor vehicle registration form.
- You may audit classes if there isn’t a waiting list; please check with the instructor.
Financial Support for Research and Scholarship
- After retirement, you may continue to spend your remaining FDA funds in the same manner that you have in the past. These funds will be managed by the Provost’s office, so you will access them by submitting receipts to Tori Perez in the Provost’s office for reimbursement.
- After spending any remaining FDA funds, you may apply to the Provost’s office for up to $1,500 per academic year in research and scholarship support by completing and submitting a Fund Request form.
Engaging with Emeriti Faculty
- You are invited to attend the Emeriti Coffee Gatherings. You can find the dates and times on the Emeriti Upcoming Events calendar.
