Educational Studies is one of the most interdisciplinary departments at Carleton. In our courses, you’ll meet terrific students—from almost every major on campus—who are united by a common belief in the importance of our schools and education’s role in a democratic society.

The Educational Studies minor provides an interdisciplinary approach to the study of education as an individual pursuit, an institutional venture, and a societal imperative.The minor aims to develop thoughtful, skillful, and imaginative students of the psychology, social and cultural history, and politics of education. Here are some of the courses we offer: Introduction to Educational Studies (EDUC 110), Issues in Urban Education (EDUC 225), Educational Psychology (EDUC 234), Multicultural Education (EDUC 338), and Culture Wars in the Classroom (EDUC 367).
