On November 23, 2014, Dr. Ernest Morrell — the Macy Professor of Education at Teachers College, Columbia University and Director of the Institute for Urban and Minority Education (IUME) — gave his outgoing Presidential Address at the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Annual Convention in Washington, DC.
