2022 Carleton Economics graduates Rebecca Chen and Leah Johnson were recently awarded top honors in the “Senior Thesis” category of the Minnesota Economic Association’s undergraduate paper competition! Chen’s research paper, Prolonged Pollution Days in China: How Does Air Pollution Duration Affect Subjective Well-Being (SWB)?, earned the 1st place prize and Johnson’s research paper, The Urban and Rural Divide: Co-residence and Female Labor Supply in Brazil, earned 2nd place. Associate Professor of Economics Faress Bhuiyan was their Comps faculty advisor. Congratulations!
