Martha Paas 2015After 40 years of dedicated service, Wadsworth A. Williams Professor of Economics Martha Paas retired at the end of summer 2016!

Fittingly, Martha concluded her Carleton teaching career by leading the Cambridge Program which she founded in the early 1980s. Over the last four decades Martha taught macroeconomics to thousands of Carls. In addition to her work in the classroom, Martha has lectured and written widely on the economic history of early modern Germany and on income inequality and health care reform. Her most recent book, The Economic History of the Kipper and Wipper Inflation, 1619-23, was published by Yale University Press in 2013. Martha delivered the Veblen-Clark Lecture at Carleton on February 19, 2016, “The Economic Consequences of an Ahistoric Economics”.
