Robert Will – 2014 Recipient of the Joseph Lee Heywood Distinguished Service Award!

28 October 2014

On September 3, Professor Emeritus Robert “Bob” Will was honored with the 2014 Joseph Lee Heywood Distinguished Service Award (see photo). This award acknowledges a resident of Northfield for his or her community service, and it was not a surprise that Professor Will’s contributions were recognized.

For over half a century, he has been an active member of the Northfield Rotary Club, Northfield Historical Society, Northfield Area United Way, and the Mayor’s Streetscape Task Force. In addition, he has been the co-chair of the All Saints Episcopal Church Building Committee and a board member of both the Northfield Retirement Community and the Northfield Area Foundation-Fifth Bridge. He has proven to be an example of dedication, kindness, and commitment and we are proud of his accomplishments!

Professor Will taught at Carleton College for over 35 years (1957-1993). Solidifying his name as one of the Emeritus Professors of the Economics Department, he possesses an influence that stretches far outside the classroom.
