Clarification Regarding Potential for Quarantine

10 March 2020

Dear Carleton Community,

We have received a number of questions about the potential for quarantine following spring break travel. To be clear, we will follow the recommendations and guidelines of the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on this matter. At this time, neither the MDH nor the CDC is recommending quarantine for any domestic travel destination.

The COVID-19 situation is changing on a daily basis. We want students and their families to know that quarantine is a possibility when making decisions about spring break travel. We urge you to stay current with the evolving recommendations and guidance from the MDH and CDC.

We remain focused on keeping members of our community as safe as possible while enabling all students to complete their Spring Term courses.

Sincerely,

Carolyn H. Livingston, Ph.D.
Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students
