Carleton College recognizes the significant impact COVID-19 has had on our community since 2020. As the pandemic has evolved, our practices must change to reflect this.

As of June 5, 2023:

  • COVID-19 and Influenza vaccinations are strongly recommended. Please see the Campus Handbook for more information on the Carleton Vaccination policy.
  • In-person testing for COVID-19 is available to students during academic terms through Student Health and Counseling (SHAC), and self-administered tests are available on campus as supplies allow.
  • Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 are expected to inform their faculty and supervisors of their illness and follow CDC guidance on isolation and masking. These individuals are also responsible for notifying anyone they came in contact with during their illness.
  • Students who test positive for COVID-19 will isolate-in-place during their illness. A limited number of dedicated isolation spaces will be available.
  • Management of Carleton’s COVID-19 response has transitioned from the COVID-19 Core Team to SHAC and our newly-hired infectious disease manager, Maggie Prunty, who is in charge of communicating new information going forward. SHAC will serve as the point of contact for information about community health and will share information via its website and Carleton Today.
