Trenne supports all the faculty and staff in the Physics and Astronomy department, handling day-to-day logistics, publications, department events, social media accounts, and communications. She’s active in the greater Carleton community through all-STEM endeavors, as a facilitator for our APS IDEA team, and through SAC. She also works hard to make the department spaces welcoming, and to connect with students as well as faculty and staff to build an inclusive and cohesive community.
At Carleton since 2013.
Trenne enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, and raising chickens. She’ll also try her hand at artistic endeavors now and then, with paint, fibers, or ceramics. She dances with two and plays music for one traditional folk dance group in the Twin Cities. Trenne speaks passable French and has dabbled in Spanish and Scottish Gaelic. She’s got a healthy relationship with power tools and loves to spend time in the shop and maker space. She’s also been an EMT for many years with first the Red Cross and currently her local fire department.
