Richard Wells ’82

Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Science, Computer Science

I am a Visiting Assistant Professor of Computer Science for the 2022-23 academic year, on leave from Normandale Community College in Bloomington, MN (part of the MinnState system of -2 and 4-year colleges).  I’ll be teaching CS 201 and CS 111.

I was a software developer for 30+ years before going into teaching.  My professional experience has ranged from educational software to image processing to CAD/CAM and 3D modeling.

I am also a Carleton grad: Chemistry, ’82.  How did I get from Chemistry to Computer Science?  Drop by some time; we’ll start the conversation there and then see where it goes.  Fair warning: once you get me talking about my kids, my wife, my dog, or baseball, it will be hard to stop me.

At Carleton since 2022.
