I am a visiting assistant professor here at Carleton College in the Biology Department. My research has focused on host-viral interactions with an emphasis on mechanisms of innate immunity proteins called IFITs. Work during my PhD centered on establishing mechanisms for IFIT2 and IFIT3 in humans, but my current interests surround the function of IFITs in other mammalian hosts and how conserved (or not conserved) those activities are. I am especially interested in bats due to their importance as viral vectors and interesting variations in their innate immune responses.
At Carleton since 2025.
