As director of marketing strategy, Lizzie Duffey (she/her) is responsible for enhancing Carleton’s brand and awareness as a leading liberal arts undergraduate college, and supporting authentic and intentional engagement efforts with its key audiences. In her role, Lizzie works closely with campus partners in admissions, development, and alumni relations to lead the development of creative and intentional marketing and communications campaigns and strategies. She also oversees relationships with external partners to achieve Carleton’s marketing objectives through brand awareness, research and insights.

Professional History

Lizzie joined Carleton in 2023 after nearly two years working at a global PR & communications firm, where she led creative earned media work for clients across food & beverage, agriculture, and healthcare industries. Lizzie is a creative brand marketer who thrives on developing fully integrated marketing campaigns from the ground up. She has led communications for campaigns that have been recognized by AdWeek, Forbes, PRWeek, and PRSA. 

Prior to working in an agency setting, Lizzie worked with Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin, elevating the Wisconsin Cheese brand through media relations, brand and experiential marketing. In 2019, she was named a Rising Marketing Star by the Association of National Advertisers for demonstrating leadership, creativity, and accountability among under 30 marketers. Lizzie’s career began as a spokesperson with Oscar Mayer, meeting fans and coordinating events while traveling coast to coast in the iconic Wienermobile.


Lizzie holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where she studied abroad three times, competed on the swim team and was awarded the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence.
