Jeremy Tatar (he/him) is an Assistant Professor of Music at Carleton. Originally from Sydney, Australia, Jeremy comes to Northfield after spending the last seven years in Montreal, Canada. In 2024, he completed a PhD in music theory at McGill University, where his dissertation focused on meter, phrase, and form in sample-based hip hop. His other research interests include disability studies, Polish modernism, and the music of Morton Feldman, and his work has been published in Music Theory Online and the Journal of Music Theory.

Outside of teaching and research, Jeremy is a keen cyclist and recreational runner, and he also likes baking, houseplants, and techno.
