In her multimedia artistic practice, Hoyer employs installation, printmaking, papermaking, and social practice to examine social issues, particularly related to questions of multiracial identity and environmental justice. She has exhibited her work internationally and has been recognized by organizations including the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the Windgate Foundation, the Colorado Department of Higher Education, the William Morris Society in the United States, and the Minnesota State Art Board. Her work is in collections such as the Museum at Texas Tech University’s Artist Printmaker Research Collection, the Association of Pinoy Printmakers, Philippines, and the Museu da Gravura de Curitiba, Brazil.
