GWEN ANDERSON (french horn) is a freelance musician in the Twin Cities area.  She currently performs with the Metropolitan Symphony, and was a founding member of the Summit Hill Brass Quintet.  The quintet released numerous CDs and was a Minnesota Public Radio “Class Notes Artists” ensemble.  Anderson studied music at the University of Minnesota and the Eastman School of Music, and horn with Caroline Lemen, Ellen Dinwiddie Smith, Kendall Betts, Verne Reynolds, and Bruce Rardin.   She has enjoyed a varied career path with a B.A. in Anthropology, recent retirement from running her food truck business “The Local Plate”, and past stints as a software engineer and production handweaver.
