GWEN ANDERSON (french horn) is a freelance musician in the Twin Cities area, and a member of the Summit Hill Brass Quintet since 1976. The quintet has released numerous CDs and was a Minnesota Public Radio “Class Notes Artists” ensemble. Anderson studied music at the University of Minnesota and the Eastman School of Music, and horn with Ellen Dinwiddie Smith, Kendall Betts, Verne Reynolds and Bruce Rardin. She has enjoyed a varied career path with a B.A. in Anthropology, recent retirement from running her food truck business “The Local Plate”, and past stints as a software engineer and production handweaver.
