Eleanor Jensen ’01

Lecturer in Art, Art and Art History

Education & Professional History

Illinois State University, MFA

Eleanor Jensen teaches field drawing, observational drawing, and printmaking, founded and organizes the Drawing Club on campus, and directs the Studio Art in the South Pacific OCS program. Her own work often references specific elements of ways we study the natural world, as well as broader concepts – how we perceive the natural environment and deepen our understanding of the places in which we live. She is interested in interdisciplinary collaboration, which has recently generated two Mellon Funded Public Works projects, a Muirhead Fund for the Arts and Sciences Collaboration course focused on tallgrass prairie, a SEMAC Individual Artist Grant, and artist residencies at the Sagehen Creek Field Station, University of California-Berkeley, and Whiterock Conservancy near Coon Rapids, IA.

At Carleton since 2019.
