Introduction and Professional History
Erica handles every piece of content on the Carleton News website, copy edits a variety of projects for the Division of Communications, and maintains the @carletoncollege social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok (plus whichever new social platforms pop up). She writes most of the articles and stories that appear on Carleton News and manages a team of 5–7 student contributors to the site during the academic year.
A 2020 alum, Erica returned to Carleton as a staff member in March 2022. Previously, she worked as a Weitz Fellow at Opera Omaha in Nebraska as part of Carleton’s Weitz Fellowship program. As a student, Erica worked in the Performance Activities Coordinator’s Office in the music department all four years, first as Office Assistant and then as Office Manager. She also served as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant for the German department and was selected by its faculty to serve as their Student Departmental Adviser her senior year. Throughout her time at Carleton, Erica held internship positions at 11:11 Press in Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota Press, the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Los Angeles, Minnesota Business Magazine, and Houston Modern Luxury Magazine.
Education
Erica earned a BA in English with a German minor, magna cum laude, from Carleton College in 2020.
