On 1/1/11 I started at Carleton. I had to move from Maine to get here and have been told that I have a ‘funny’ accent which I embrace! Many folks here at Carleton try to immitate my accent – so I figure that in 200 years there’s going to be a pocket of people with New England accents in Northfield.
My favorite color is RED.

Highlights & Recent Activity
In 2006, as the Director of Environmental Health and Safety along with the Marine Mammal Rehabilitation Coordinator, applied for and received a John H. Prescott Grant to be used for composting marine animals that expire during their rehabilitation in UNE’s Marine Animal Rehabilitation Center.
March 2010 presented at the Association for Collegiate Conference Event Director’s International Conference. The presentation entitled, “Planning for a Disaster: How Event Planners Can Assist Authorities in Responding to Local Emergencies” showcased the successful collaborative efforts used to create and administer the H1N1 Point of Dispensing (POD) by utilizing teams of employees from UNE, the Public Health Industry and the Center for Disease Control.
April 26, 2010, as Director of Environmental Health and Safety, accepted an award from the Maine Resource Recovery Association for Composter of the Year for 2010. This award was a result of the marine animal composting program initiated in 2006.
May 2012, Campus Safety Health and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA) awarded Carleton College with the “Leaders Who Care” award. The Campus Leaders Who Care distinction was developed to recognize the outstanding involvement and support of senior administrators for their understanding and championing environmental ethics and stewardship, health and safety issues at their institutions.
