I am very interested in teaching neurodivergent students, with a major emphasis on adapting my teaching techniques to benefit ALL students following Universal Design (UDL) principles.
I practice a few Japanese martial arts, specifically kyudo and naginata. I am also interested in translation and interpretation techniques between Japanese and English.
I am co-founder and chief instructor of the Minnesota Kyudo Renmei, and Vice-President of the American Kyudo Renmei.
I am also a 1st generation college graduate, originally from the southwest suburbs of Chicago. I am happy to be a resource for any Carls (students, staff or faculty) who would like to discuss issues for 1st-gen, or neurodivergent students.
