Alissa joined the Student Health and Counseling (SHAC) team in 2023. She grew up in Seattle and attended Wellesley College, where she majored in political science and studied abroad in Switzerland for a year. She completed her Masters in Community Counseling at Seattle University in 2013. Alissa has had the opportunity to hone her clinical skills in a variety of settings over the past 12 years, including treating disordered eating in hospital and outpatient settings. She loves supporting LGBTQIA+ students and enjoys talking about issues including about self-esteem, anxiety, and depression.
Alissa lives with her wife and two kids outside of St. Paul.
