Join us for a viewing of Food Chains on Thursday, April 4th, 6:00 p.m., in Sevy Meeting Room.  The narrative of the film focuses on an intrepid and highly lauded group of tomato pickers from Southern Florida – the Coalition of Immokalee Workers or CIW – who are revolutionizing farm labor.  Their story is one of hope and promise for the triumph of morality over corporate greed – to ensure a dignified life for farm workers and a more humane, transparent food chain.

National Long Sleeve Shirt Drive, April 1-5, at Carleton.  Farmworkers face long hours of arduous work exposed to dangerous pesticides and heat stress.  Donated shirts will help them to better protect themselves against these dangers.  Please consider donating long sleeve shirts at the checker stands in the dining halls or CCCE in Sayles-Hill.

Tuesday, March 26th:  Learn how to make a homemade pasta along with creamy cheese, Pomodoro and Bolognese sauces from scratch in East Dining Hall, LDC, 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Every Tuesday starting February 12th – March 12th (with the exception of March 6th), Burton and LDC dining halls will be highlighting a different region of Route 66 during lunch.  As the song goes, “Get your kicks on Route 66.”

Sayles Café will be serving bread bowls all month long, featuring a different soup each week.  Make sure to stop by each week and see what the weekly featured soup is!

Sayles Café winter break hours begin on Wednesday, November 21st.  Barista & grab and go.  Chef’s Fare Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Hours of Operation:  Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  Closed Saturday and Sunday.

NOTE:  Sayles Café will be closed on Thursday, November 22nd and Friday, November 23rd for Thanksgiving.  Enjoy your holiday!
