Salvador Dali

Salvador Dali (1904-1989) was born in Figueres, Catalonia, in Spain and is best known for his bizzare and surrealist paintings. Like Carroll, Dali also explored dreams and imagination in his work. His Alice suite is a dramatic departure from other illustrators, emphasizing the absurdities and dream-like quality of Carroll's work with striking shapes and vibrant colors.
