When should I submit a CCF?

Submit a CCF when concerning behavior is affecting you or other members of our community. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • a general concern that may have broad impact on the community
  • a general concern for someone’s welfare
  • a concern regarding sexual misconduct
  • a concern about a violation of Carleton’s community standards

I am concerned about the immediate safety of myself or others, should I fill out a CCF?

No. Please call Security Services at 507-222-4444. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Can I submit information anonymously?

Yes. We do not require contact information; however, without this information we may be limited in our response. We encourage you to share your name and contact information. Carleton faculty, staff and Resident Assistants must identify themselves when submitting a community concern form that is sexual in nature.

Who will contact me after I submit the CCF?

Please see the CCF Process flowchart on the Community Concern Form Website.

When should I expect a response after I submit the form?

If you choose to share your contact information, staff will contact you within one business day to ensure we understand your concern, gather additional information, and discuss next steps with support options for you and others involved.

Can I know the outcome of a concern that I submitted?

The CCF process is bound by FERPA and handled similarly to other student educational records. If it is determined that you have a legitimate educational need to know about the matter, you will be contacted.

What if I’m not ready to make a report, but I need advice about handling a concern?

You may contact staff in the Dean of Students Office to answer your questions, discuss options and resources in any situation. The Dean of Students Office is located in Sevy Hall 110 (across from the Great Hall) or can be reached via email at dosoffice@carleton.edu or phone at 507-222-4075.

What additional information or resources are available?

Will my CCF submission be kept confidential?

No, but it is private. Every effort is made to keep the process private, however there may be times when the nature of the situation or the community’s existing awareness of it may affect efforts to protect privacy.
